D.L. Frey Designs was founded circa 1993 by Daniel L. Frey in Mansfield, Texas.
Danny had a passion for architecture and design since childhood, and as a young man he worked as a draftsman for his father’s pharmacy design and installation company, Harlan Frey & Associates. That foundation gave him the experience to branch out onto his own and pursue his true dream: custom dream home design.
He acquired his Associates Degree in Computer Aided Design and was so proficient in his studies, he was teaching the professor before he graduated. From there, he completed hundreds of projects in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, many winning accolades in the local annual Parade of Homes tour. In fact, American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson bought her first home from Danny, a D.L. Frey Design project, after acquiring her title.
Danny also had a deep love for the mountains, and always dreamed of one day living among them. In mid-2006, he moved to Angel Fire, New Mexico so he could immerse himself in the design jobs he was being offered from local builders.
His style has since evolved from “Texas-Traditional” to “Mountain-Modern”, and offers services to a wide range of clientele.
